At St. John Freight Systems and Global Corp Ltd (GCL), sustainability is not an afterthought. It is a responsibility. As logistics leaders, we recognize our role in shaping a greener future and we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint while enabling global trade.

Our focus goes beyond compliance. By investing in renewable energy, green technologies, and eco-conscious operations, we are building a supply chain that balances efficiency, responsibility, and resilience.

Our Sustainability Pillars

solar
Harnessing Solar Power

We have installed a 147.15 kWp rooftop solar power plant at our ICD in Thoothukudi, generating 198,410 kWh annually.

  • That is equivalent to planting 48,696 trees each year.
  • Reduces dependency on conventional energy sources.
  • Contributes directly to our long-term ESG commitments.

This investment reflects our belief that sustainable energy should power the future of logistics.

EV-forklift
Greening Cargo Handling with EV Forklifts

We introduced Thoothukudi’s first EV forklift (Haul 3-ton FLT) which is a landmark move for cleaner and more efficient operations.

  • Zero emissions
  • Quieter operations
  • Reduced operating costs
  • Safer for workers and the environment

By adopting electric equipment, we are taking a meaningful step toward decarbonizing cargo handling in southern India.

  • Optimized warehouse lighting and ventilation systems.
  • Energy-efficient equipment across hubs.
  • Smart monitoring to cut waste and reduce power consumption.
2green
Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Through operational improvements, digital workflow adoption, and optimized transport routes, we actively work to:

  • Cut fuel consumption.
  • Lower greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Support India’s vision for a net-zero future.
